Lennox G27M3-75A-2 furnace with 56L8301 controller board. Randomly shuts down after a few minutes and restarts. Furnace and filters clean. All sensors and transformer check good. Replaced 56L8301 with 21D83M-843 and problem solved for over a week, so far. Customer “Lyle T” is right, must separate two green furnace grounds and then wire them together with a spade connector before connecting to green ground on adapter harness. Wire the now separated yellow wire from transformer to yellow on adapter and follow other wiring instructions. I spent an hour puzzling and then trimming an inch off the supplied backplate and drilling new holes to securely fit the new controller board into the furnace. But it works and the furnace runs like new.

Worked as a replacement for my 20 yr old Lennox 56L8301. The only issues were that mounting it did not function as directed it, so it is more propped in place, and a couple of the wires that I had didn't quite reconnect as described (Yellow Transformer was connected to two grounds and a 24V AC RTN), but connecting the two yellows as described and connecting all the grounds together worked fine.
