AMRE Supply is a network of warehouse locations across Canada stocking parts, products, equipment and supplies required by service contractors and professional property operators. With 12 locations in the market, our clients can enjoy express same day service at all locations or have their orders shipped same day from any of our shipping locations located in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba or Ontario.
With a team size of over 100 employees, many of whom have been with the company over 10 years, the ability to solve a wide variety of unique and not so unique challenges has become the trademark of Amre Supply's success. We believe in Original Factory Specified parts and whenever possible stock these parts or products to ensure our clients receive the parts engineered specifically for their appliances, plumbing, heating or cooling equipment. Amre Supply also inventories many hard to find or no longer available parts for brands that are engineered to original specifications by quality manufacturers.
Amre strives to provide many quality tools to assist our clients in sourcing parts, equipment, and fixtures for contractors, technicians, professionals and property operators alike. With the support of our vendor partners we have compiled a variety of helpful research media such as our website, mobile application, printed flyers and catalogs, digital catalogs, parts breakdowns, instructions, msds, spec sheets, technical information and more... This allows our clients to solve almost any repair or replacement challenge. And as always our knowledgeable industry trained staff are always ready to help!
Our goal is simple, provide exceptional service, have the products required by our clients in stock when required and provide "easy to do business" with transaction processes. AMRE Supply was created in 1968 under the name U.A.P.D. Walter Swane, after 20 years of employment as the Service and Parts Manager for the Hudson Bay, Walter knew that with a commitment to provide service contractors a convenient source for appliance parts, an independently owned wholesaler could exist in Canada. Walter Swane and associates opened the first branch in Edmonton, Alberta. U.A.P.D began selling to both the independent and factory authorized appliance service contractors. The name simply stood for Universal Appliance Parts Distributors.
Outgrowing the first location within three years, U.A.P.D expanded the Edmonton operation in 1971 and opened a second location in Calgary, Alberta during the same year.
In 1975, the Edmonton branch again relocated to a larger facility and a third location was opened in Vancouver, B.C. With the move into British Columbia, a name conflict with an existing business in British Columbia occurred and U.A.P.D was renamed AMRE Supply Co. Ltd. The new name simply stood for the four major product groups AMRE Supply sells:

We then expanded our British Columbia warehouse network to include a location in Surrey in 1984, and in 1989 we commenced operations in Ontario, opening our 5th location in Kitchener.
In 1994 we opened our Hamilton location and in 1995 our Scarborough location was operational.
In 1996, we also expanded our Western Canada presence, opening our Richmond location in British Columbia and our new Distribution Center in Edmonton. The new distribution center allowed us to serve our growing network of locations in Western Canada and as well served as a second counter sales location in Edmonton.
In 1997, we opened our 10th location in Windsor Ontario.
In the summer of 1999 our Saskatoon branch was opened. As well, AMRE Supply joined the Maintenance First marketing group allowing us to expand our product offering and offer our clients an online catalogue and ordering system. Visit the Maintenance First website for more details.
In the spring of 2000 our London Ontario store opened and the expansion of our Calgary location was completed. As well construction commenced on our distribution center in the fall of 2000 and operations commenced in early 2001.
In November of 2001, we began operations in Winnipeg Manitoba with the purchase of an existing branch location of a local business. In the Fall of 2007 we consolidated our B.C. operations and increased the size of our Richmond facility to serve our clients with increased shipping capabilities.
Sadly in the spring of 2008 our founder Walter Swane passed away at the age of 95. He worked almost every day until his passing only missing a few days prior to his leaving us. His work ethic, ingenuity and positive attitude still continue to motivate and drive team members in keeping Walters legacy in providing second to none quality and service to Amre clients.
Expansion continued into the next decade. In 2010 we moved into 3 new larger locations. Our Winnipeg, Scarborough and Edmonton Distribution Center all transitioned into much larger facilities to allow us to expand our product selection and inventory to keep ahead of growing demand. Our Surrey location will also expand into a larger facility in Spring 2012.
In 2011 Amre added another location in the north end of Edmonton. This location features something new for Amre, a bath kitchen and lighting showroom. With growing demand from the home building and renovation sector this showroom displays a variety of lighting, plumbing and hardware fixtures. It also provides our property management and contractors clients a place to also better view the wide selection of products Amre has to offer.
The next exciting step for the Amre showroom model started taking shape in late 2012 when we closed down the Edmonton North location to create a new larger showroom in the Edmonton South location. The project, due to be complete by 2013, will allow us to provide a much greater selection of display products that has been in demand for one of our busiest stores in Canada. Along with this renovation we will be adding a separate account customer sales desk. This will allow us to better keep up with increased traffic and demand to provide the fast, dependable and knowledgeable service Amre has been known for in our wholesale industry.
